An Overview to Traditional Marketing

traditional marketing

Marketing plays an important role in every business establishment. It defines the competitiveness of a certain business to increase its development by promoting their product to the market, private and public.

Nowadays, marketing can be done instantly with less effort especially if the establishment would prefer to have Customer Relationship Management software and Information Technology Operators together with Customer Service Representatives and Telemarketers hired to handle the marketing works for them. But in traditional marketing, literal hard work could be expected and although it requires too much time, most of the people who still exercise traditional marketing get the most positive outcome as a result of their hard work.

Traditional Marketing gives much personal approach to the customers. Along with this personal approach to people is the fact that usually, they bring with them those products they try to sell for you to see it for yourself, explain you manually how to use the product, and show you what advantages you will get if you take the product.

When it comes to traditional marketing, this will remind people of the picture of sales associates walking miles under the sun, approaching people door to door, showing them what they have to offer from small things like floor wax to huge things like wooden cabinets. By just passing in front of the neighbourhood’s eyes, they already are practicing traditional marketing. Competitors are very much visible because they even walk at the same route you take, trying to get the customers you already have. The advantage of this style of marketing is that, the product you are trying to sell is very much available and easy to spot on. Buyers can choose from the variety that you have on hand, negotiations about the prices are always allowed and consumers will be delighted to have the product right at that point in time having no hassles with deliveries at all.

Some businesses use papers to exercise marketing, both spread sheets and leaflets. Spread sheets includes posting an advertisement in magazines and newspapers. It also attracts consumers but doesn’t give solid reactions and outcomes from the customers. Negotiations with the price are usually unable unless the contact number of the Marketing Associate is indicated with the advertisement. By the phone calls received from the customers starts the negotiation until both sides reached the satisfaction of getting the negotiation set. It is almost the same with the leaflet style. The only difference is that, advertisement through spread sheet requires only a small space to promote the product in numbers of pages there is in a magazine or a newspaper whereas other topics are included and you’d be lucky if the one who reads that paper may give effort to read it, even take a single glimpse on it. On the other hand, leaflets give the whole space speaking only but the product you try to sell. Once you hand it over to people, they will automatically take a glimpse on it, read over it, containing only it.

A good slogan of the product also contributes good publicity. The catchier the slogan is, the more it is possible to increase customers. And even in the past generation, televisions and radio stations were always there to help advertise products. It also matter who will advertise it. Famous artists, singers, celebrities are in demand of taking the role of advertising the product. But with a good slogan, anyone, not just famous people, could catch viewers and listeners’ attention and will be tattooed on their minds because of the touch of the slogan to them.

Sale promotions and discounts on items are also a good marketing strategy. It encourages customers to buy cheaper products that will suit their budgets. Prices are also fixed but this time, they will take their time running over the products to meet greater discounts they can get. When people step inside a store and saw a sale or discount tags on items, there will never be anything to hinder them from checking out those products.

These facts just prove that traditional marketing, despite the existence of modern technologies like marketing software, emails, and social networking sites, could still be adaptable to increase profits in a certain entrepreneur.
